Recreation Opportunities in the McDonough Area . . .

Whether you prefer powering through the trails or the tranquility of bird watching, casting flies or making that hole-in-one, relaxing in camp or gliding over powder, tracking game or skimming over the lake, McDonough offers the best in outdoor recreation.

McDonough is surrounded by thousands of acres of uninhibited state forest, dotted with bass ponds and crisscrossed with trout streams. Trail seekers have access to hundreds of miles of multi-use and specific trails and can find lodging in state lean-tos and camp sites. Several larger lakes offer boating, swimming and other water sports.
