Geneganslet Lake Association.

Geneganslet Lake fed the mill races that powered industry during the 1800s and 1900s in McDonough. Around the turn of the century, two floods damaged the dam allowing tons of water to flow through the outlet and into Geneganslet Creek destroying and significantly damaging all of the mills along the creek.

Today, the Lake is closed to the public and is a haven for those owning cottages around it. The Lake Association is a member of the New York State Federation
of Lake Associations. The Association works closely with DEC and State agencies to protect and enhance water resourses.
