| County and Local
Government . . . |
Chenango County has a Home
Rule form of government with a County Board of Supervisors which
includes representatives from all 21 towns and two from the City of
Norwich, each elected to two-year terms. Supervisors are part-time,
allowing continued service to their professions and communities. The
Chairman of the Board of Supervisors functions as a paid county
executive.
The City of Norwich has the mayor-city council form of government and
the incorporated villages have the mayor-village council form of
government. Hamlets are governed by their town council.
The Town of McDonough is governed by a Supervisor and
four elected board members. |
